People in Columbia are terrified of parking garages and its taking some time to get people used to parking in them after hours and at night. but are they full to the point that the City needs another one as opposed to subleasing spaces in them for public use? how may parking garages is too many? I mean Sumter has the two Tuomey Garages which are private. I refuse to pay The Item's subscription (sorry Im that cheap) I noticed that the Sumter Planning Commission has approved the Hyatt Hotel design and a new parking garage? Does anyone know how many vehicles and levels the garage will be? We have this debate in Columbia sometimes. It have sidewalks down both side and high fencing across the peak, so no one can use it to jump off I guess. I looks much better and looks slightly taller than the old bridge. The bridge lifespan had expired, and inspections found cracks, deterioration and other imperfections in the structure.
